A former 10-year Davis Cup player and captain for Jamaica and former coach of Canada’s Billie Jean King Cup team, he has represented two nations in international team tennis. For more than two decades, Karl has served as Tournament Director of the National Bank Open presented by Rogers in Toronto, one of the world’s premier professional tennis tournaments.
During his tenure, the event has strengthened its international reputation for excellence, innovation, commercial success, player experience and fan engagement.
Across Toronto and Montreal, the National Bank Open presented by Rogers has reported combined annual attendance exceeding 540,000 spectators and global broadcast reach of more than 100 million viewers, reflecting the scale of one of Canada’s most significant international sporting properties.
Working at the highest levels of professional sport, Karl has developed relationships with legendary athletes including Serena Williams, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, alongside influential international business figures such as Sir Richard Branson.

As Founder and CEO of Premier Racquet Clubs, Karl is building an ambitious Canadian sports enterprise operating six facilities, with a long-term vision to develop a network of 100 racquet sports clubs across Canada and internationally.
Through Premier Racquet Clubs, he has developed a growing business platform combining strategic investment, infrastructure development, operational excellence, innovative programming and customer experience.
Karl is also the Founder of Premium Court, a leading Canadian sports court construction company specializing in the design, development and construction of high-performance sports courts and facilities.
Together, these businesses demonstrate a distinctive entrepreneurial capability: identifying opportunities, creating investment strategies, developing infrastructure, assembling leadership teams and building sustainable operations.
